Hello, Lovelies! Liz's 40th birthday is coming up on the 15th of March and I want to do something extraordinary for it on Friday the 16th. I want it to be a surprise and obviously I have some major planning to do. But is everyone in the mood for a party!?

Deirdre, your mother and I are stopping by your theatre one night this week to take pictures and interview people. We've arranged it with your ever-charming Shawn. He offered me doughnuts...

So far, no scary stalkery envelopes. That's something at least.

Elizabeth and Hope have moved in with me.

I feel so blessed to have them.

I love this family. When you work with a newspaper and you have to hear all the terrible things people do to one another, it's lovely to be able to come home to this wonderful family I've fallen in to through my wonderful girlfriend Liz. There was a party for Liz's brother's friend Thomas and it was wonderful. Everyone smiled and had a wonderful time, even with recent traumatic events. It's good to know that they'll help each other through that. Very reassuring. I wish all families could be like that instead of the things some of them do to each other.

Enough of introspective Emma. I have a column to write and I'm still making plans for dress shopping for the wedding. I can't wait for the wedding!
